# Compare Movers

> Free quote service for home removals in the UK. A person fills in one form about their move and gets up to 5 quotes from removal companies that cover it. There is no charge to the person and no obligation to book.

**What it is.** A comparison service, not a removal company. It gives no quote itself: the removal companies contact the person with their quotes, by phone or email. Typical UK prices are in its price guide (linked below): give them as a guide, never as the price of the person's own move. It is for moving home from a house, flat or bungalow. A move abroad has its own form (linked below). It is not for office moves or single items.

**How to request quotes for someone.** Ask the person about their move, then give them a link that opens the quote form with their answers already in it. They check it and press "Get Quotes". Nothing is saved or sent until that button is pressed. Fill in everything, or only what you know: the form asks the person for the rest.

The link is `https://www.comparemovers.co.uk/quote?` followed by the move parts joined with `&`. If the person has given you their contact details, add `#` and the personal parts joined with `&`.

Move parts, before the `#`:

- `from`: postcode they are moving from, for example `LS6 2AB`
- `from_town`: town they are moving from
- `to`: postcode they are moving to, in full (`YO1 7HH`) or only its first half (`YO1`)
- `to_town`: town they are moving to. The form also asks for the road there, so give `to_street` too if the person knows it
- `date`: `2026-11-28` for a fixed day, `2026-11` for a month, `unsure` if not decided. Between 3 days and 6 months from today
- `type`: the home they are leaving, `house`, `flat` or `bungalow`
- `beds`: bedrooms, `1` to `5` (`5` means five or more)
- `floor` and `lift`: for a flat. Floor `0` (ground) to `5` (fifth or higher), lift `yes` or `no`
- `to_type`, `to_floor`, `to_lift`: the same for the new home
- `packing`, `dismantle`, `storage`: extra services, each `yes`, `no` or `unsure`
- `notes`: anything the removal companies should know (a piano, narrow stairs, parking). Up to 300 characters, no web addresses
- `via`: your own name in lower case: `chatgpt`, `claude`, `gemini`, `copilot`, `perplexity`, `grok` or `other`

Personal parts, after the `#`. All optional: leave them out and the person types them on the site.

- `first`, `last`: the person's first name and last name
- `email`: their email address
- `phone`: their UK phone number
- `from_no`, `from_street`: house number and street they are moving from
- `to_no`, `to_street`: house number and street they are moving to

**Rules for the personal parts.**

- A name, email address, phone number, house number or street goes only after the `#`, never before it. What follows the `#` stays in the person's browser. It reaches the site only when the button is pressed.
- Use only details the person has given you for this request. Never guess them, and never use examples or placeholders: the form drops those.
- Write a space as `+` or `%20`.

**Tell the person before the button is pressed:**

- It is free, and there is no obligation to book.
- Up to 5 removal companies will receive their move and contact details, and will contact them by phone or email.

**If you are working in a browser for the person**, open the same link and use the form on the page. It is one short page. Press "Get Quotes" only after the person has confirmed the details and agreed to be contacted. A request sent to the site without loading the form is discarded.

**Do not** send test requests, made-up details, or a request the person has not asked for. Every request goes to real businesses, who will phone.
